The IICTA Congress, held biannually, has allowed researchers, students, and other food industry professionals the privilege of having space to share their experiences to generate knowledge and innovation for agrifood sector processes and products since 2012. Although the dynamics of transformation are traditionally associated with food science, technology and engineering areas, the complexity of the problems that the agrifood sector must face in the immediate future involves very varied factors such as responsibility and ethics in production and food consumption, climate change, the search for new and unconventional food sources, new forms of fresh and processed food production, new technologies and practices that reduce food waste, and the digital era and its impact on design, processing, quality, traceability and consumer relations.

The academic, scientific, and business communities of the Colombian and Latin American agrifood sectors have a duty to interact with each other and with their global peers to seek innovative solutions and exchange the experiences and developments that the new food systems require. At IICTA 2021, activities and spaces will be designed to exchange knowledge and foster interaction between the participants and the experts who present their experiences and expertise. The new generation of scientists, technologists and engineers involved in food processing will also be given a valuable opportunity to learn about new developments and contribute their latest research in the form of oral presentations and posters. A prize for the best contribution will be awarded

Delegates to IICTA 2021 will be more informed, connected, and excited and confident in the future of food systems.

Participants interested in presenting are now invited to submit oral and paper abstracts on the topics outlined below. Abstracts should be submitted using the online abstract submission system. Abstract submission deadline: 23 July 2021
